This is Doug. He served our county by way of enlisting in the military. But like many veterans, he met some challenges reintegrating back into life after service. Because of our unique partnership with the VA we were able to instantly take Doug in as a resident. He immediately found his niche in the kitchen and took that on as part of his community day responsibilities. You would often come in and see that he had cooked up a big rack of ribs for all the residents. Today, after just two months in our program, Doug has moved into his own home.

He’s already promised that he will be back soon as a volunteer to make sure the other residents still get a taste of his cooking.
