Jason, a previous OHP participant is now in permanent housing! Before coming to OHP, Jason had been living on the streets for two years. He also lost both of his parents and had gone through a divorce. He didn’t know where to turn and fell into deep depression. Jason found himself sleeping on the doorstep at a local church in Fort Walton Beach and visiting One Hopeful Place for the Day Program and the Cold Night Shelter when the weather was 40 degrees or below.
Last winter he came to OHP to seek a warm bed, hot meals, and a shower at the Cold Night Shelter. The next morning, Donna Morgan, our Shelter Manager told Jason she had a bed open in the men’s shelter and ask him to stay. Jason was grateful and began to put his life together with the resources available and assistance from Donna and Liz. Before moving to his new house Jason got job in Fort Walton Beach and is saving for a car. He joined Champion Life Church and is looking forward to a bright future.
