Kathy

Another happy story of a new beginning for one of our OHP participants! “I’m on my own”, exclaimed Kathy, “when homeless, you’re just trying to get from point A to point B -just trying to survive”.

Kathy, a native to Okaloosa County Florida for 25 years, found her way to One Hopeful Place last January during Cold Night Shelter. She fell on hard times after losing her job. Kathy displays a positive outlook on her new life despite she suffers from chronic back pain and partial loss of sight. Kathy was eager to share how much Donna and Liz helped her regain her independence and move forward into permanent housing.

“Donna is ‘amazing’, a ‘God send’ and Liz at Bridgeway Center worked endlessly with me to find me a home!” She went on to explain how happy she was when she arrived at her new place because they made sure it was complete with furnishings and her pantry was stocked with food. Kathy is involved volunteering at church and enjoys helping others in need.
