One Hopeful Place

Community Solutions is developing a homeless shelter:, “One Hopeful Place” on the City of Fort Walton Beach property located at 1564 Percy L Coleman Road, in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

Included in this plan is a ten bed 3,000 square foot facility (Phase 1),  funded through a grant,  to house the area’s veterans in a transitional program, as well as provide a safe facility for up to 100 of our community’s less fortunate during those nights when temperatures drop below 40 degrees.

Our Community Solutions program is designed to extend missions coordinated and hosted by area churches.

Our second facility (Phase 2), partially funded by the State of Florida, will be used to house homeless women and children as well as provide a commercial kitchen.

Phases 3 and 4 will include a Resource Center, with resources to be provided by other community organizations including Career Sources and 90works,  a community group to help Veterans.

Phase 1 has a scheduled completion date of June 30, 2016. Our site plan, currently being prepared by our engineering firm,  also calls for plans to develop small apartments for the homeless. This might be well compared to areas called “small villages” as other communities throughout the nation have developed.
